Deepest sympathy to the family. Harvie and I met at Vance Jr. High and retained a lifelong friendship. It was always fun getting together and reminising. He was a quality person and will be missed by all who knew him. God Bless.

I have known Harvie since we were in first grade together at Fairmount school and also in classes together all through school. I talked with him at our 50th high school reunion and it was nice remembering our younger years. Prayers for peace and comfort to the family during this difficult time.

While our hearts are heavy with loss, we are also grateful for the privilege of having known him. His life reminds us that it is not measured by the number of years we live, but by the lives we touch, the friendships we build, and the memories we leave behind.
I had the honor of knowing Harvie as one of my clients, but over time he became much more than that. He was someone I always enjoyed talking with. Every conversation left you smiling because Harvie had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome.
If you knew Harvie, you knew where his loyalties stood. He was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. Saturdays during football season were special because he proudly wore that orange and white, cheering on the Vols through every victory and every challenge. His enthusiasm for Tennessee football wasn't just about the game"it was about tradition, pride, and sharing those moments with family and friends.
He also had a special place in his heart for the Tennessee High Vikings. Supporting the Vikings represented his love for his community and the young people who wore that uniform. Whether it was Friday night lights or Saturday afternoons in Knoxville, Harvie simply loved football and the joy it brought to those around him.
But as much as Harvie loved football, the people in his life meant even more. He was a man who cared deeply about others. His kindness, his sense of humor, and his genuine spirit made an impression on everyone he met. He never had to try to be someone special, he simply was.
Today, we grieve because we loved him. Yet we can also celebrate because we were blessed to have shared in his journey. The memories of his laughter, his conversations, and his unwavering enthusiasm for the things he loved will continue to live on in each of us.
As we say goodbye, I imagine Harvie watching from above, smiling, perhaps wearing his Tennessee orange, finally seeing the greatest victory of all, a life well lived and a heavenly home prepared for him.
The Bible reminds us in John 14:1-3:
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you."
That promise gives us hope today. While we mourn his absence, we rejoice in knowing that death is not the end for those who place their faith in the Lord.
Harvie's race has been run. His game has been played with integrity, kindness, and heart. The cheers we heard him give for his beloved Vols and Vikings now give way to the applause of a life that truly mattered.
May we honor his memory by loving our families, supporting one another, enjoying life's simple pleasures, and living each day with the same warmth and genuine spirit that Harvie shared with everyone around him.
Rest in peace, Harvie. You will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
