Todd Daines’ Story

1968 - 2026
Age 58
Jonesborough, Tennessee

Todd Daines, 58, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on June 27, 2026. Born on January 2, 1968, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, Todd lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys.

After graduating from Baraboo High School, Todd embarked on a career that showcased his dedication and skill. He worked at The Home Depot in Fort Myers, Florida, for 15 years before partnering with his father-in-law to establish a home repair business. Following a decade of collaboration, Todd and his wife Carrie relocated to Tennessee, where he joined Champion Windows. He continued working there until his retirement in August 2025, after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Todd found joy in many passions throughout his life. He loved fishing, NASCAR, camping trips with Carrie and their cherished dog Sedona, hiking in nature’s beauty, gardening, traveling with his wife, and enjoying visiting by the glow of a campfire. His love for dogs was boundless; he always made time to connect with every dog he met.

In July 2025, Todd was received into the Catholic Church - a moment that brought him profound joy. His first Mass as a Catholic was celebrated at Duke Chapel the evening before undergoing brain surgery. This spiritual milestone became a source of strength during his final months.

Todd is survived by his loving wife, Carrie (Bernabei) and his brother, Scott Daines. He was predeceased by his parents, Gladwyn and Marlene Daines; sister, Sandy Griep; father-in-law, Robert Bernabei; and mother-in-law, Nancy Bernabei.

A Funeral Mass will be held on July 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2517 John B Dennis Hwy., Kingsport, Tennessee. A reception will follow in the Parish Life Center. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at https://youtube.com/live/9TZyM-la_zo?feature=share

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower Parish in Montana https://stdominickpt.flocknote.com/give/22517 or St. Vincent de Paul in Kingsport https://stdominickpt.flocknote.com/give/22506

May Todd’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him as they celebrate the life of a kind-hearted, fun-loving man who touched so many lives.
