Alan "Bubba" Ray Burgin

05/17/2026

Mr. Alan Ray Burgin, age 60, of Johnson City, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

He was born on January 27, 1966, to Martha Hoilman Burgin and the late Charles Anthony Burgin, Sr.

To know Alan “Bubba” was a blessing. He was a light - the laughter in a room, a smile needed to brighten any day. Bubba was the sun after a rain and a rainbow for the promise of a better brighter day. He was loved by everyone who knew him, cherished by his friends and adored by his family. Bubba loved racing, fishing, eating a good Sunday supper with his family, and spending time with his beloved pets. A light has grown dim. A star is shining brighter. His love now glows from Heaven.

Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother, Martha Burgin are his beloved wife, Debbie Burgin; step-children, D.J. Vitale (Crystal) and Lace Powell (Jamonte), grandchildren, Kaitlin Spears, Matthew Vitale, and Noel Powell; brothers, Charles Burgin Jr. (Kerry), Kirk Burgin (Hallie) and Randy Burgin (Christy); sisters, Anne Hagan (Doug) and Renee Walker (Mark); in addition to the ones he loved, he loved to work and laugh with his work family.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Milligan Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, prior to the service.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 22, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery. Those who would like to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home by 10:30 AM.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Bubba will be missed by many and his home will never be the same. We love you! We miss you! May you find the happiness and peace in heaven that you spread on earth. God called and you answered.
