Mr. Gary Lee Ambrose, age 70, of Jonesborough, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
He was born in Greeneville, Tennessee on March 30, 1955, to the late William and Dorothy Blankenship Ambrose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Spears and a nephew, Jason Spears.
Gary was an outdoorsman, who loved mowing and doing lawn care. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and dirt races. His love for animals was something he will be remembered for but above all, Gary loved his family.
Survivors include his brother, Bobby Ambrose; sister, Sandra Ambrose; several aunts, uncles and extended family.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2026, at Maple Lawn Cemetery.

So sorry Sandra and Bobby. Haven’t seen you all since we moved from Highland Ave to Piney Grove. Often think of our childhood friends we grew up with. So very sorry for your loss of Gary; he was a hoot growing up when you all lived on Lamont St. He’s with your mom, dad and Rita now. I’ll be praying for your family
