Hazel 'Suzi" Marie Potter Leach

Mrs. Hazel “Susi” Marie Potter Leach, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Leach was born on June 6, 1944, in Wayne, Michigan, to the late John Nelson & Gladys Holley Potter. She was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Leach and Cecil Leach.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Jonesborough.

Susi was a graduate of Jonesborough High School, where she met her husband, James. She also graduated from ETSU with an Undergraduate and Graduate Degree in Education. She was also a Licensed Professional marriage and personal counselor for many years.

Survivors include her husband, James T. Leach, Jonesborough; daughter, Lesia Michelle Leach, Crestline, Ohio; grandchildren, Crystal Lee Atkins (Shawn), Bill Burkes, and Sarah Marie Burkes; great-grandchildren, Noah, Levi, Jessica, Neveah, Mary, Meredith, Lydia, Aliyah and Star; sisters, Wilma Carico, Lucille Baines, and Judy Blackwell; brother-in-law, Ronnie Leach; sister-in-law, Juanita Church (Buck); and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Susi loved being with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Monte Vista Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
