Mr. James R. Holt, age 95, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home in Telford, Tennessee.

Jim was born on December 29, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Keough
Holt, his parents, Guy and Frances Krewson Holt, his son, Andy, his grandson, Josh, his brother, Geoff and his sister, Dixie.

He is survived by his children, Doug, Phyllis, Leah, Beth, Reba, Tim and Carmen; grandchildren, Steve (Larren), Jordan (Courtney), Jenn
(Nick), Drew, Leah and Katie; and great grandchildren, Sarah, Lydian, Krewson, Eliza, Ben, Max, Reese, Oliver and Lydia.

Jim was in the trucking business for over 40 years. He was an employee of ET&WNC in Johnson City for 17 years and loved reminiscing about his “ET days” and all the friends he made while working there. In retirement, Jim was a hospital volunteer and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Graysburg Golf Club where he played golf until his late eighties. Jim loved to travel and made lasting friendships wherever he went. He cherished the memories of his many trips and of those he met along the way. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man whose insight and wisdom guided the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Smokey Mountain Hospice. Their kindness, compassion and friendship brightened his life.
