
	
	Mrs. Jean Rankin, age 82, Johnson City, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Rankin was born on May 3, 1943, in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Rev. Clifton & Sara Milinda Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred Herman Rankin and two brothers, Robert Ward and James Richard Ward.
She attended Church of Jesus in Johnson City.
Mrs. Rankin worked at Johnson City Internal Medicine for eighteen years.
Survivors include children, Cynthia Debra Sells (Jeff), Timothy Allen Rankin, daughter-in-law, Teresa Rankin and Christine Angela Rankin; grandchildren, Adam and Katie Rankin, Josh and John Sells, Hunter Crandall and Dillon Perkinson; five great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ethan, Aleigha, Jeffrey, Abbi, Zeke, Xander, Zara, Brynna and Kensliegh; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Jane Gibson, and Melissa Leake FNP for many years of care.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 3, 2025, at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Rankin, Zeke Slone, Zander Laws, Ethan Pearman, John Sells, Josh Sells and Ricky Woods.

 Sister Jean was a loving person and we are sorry to hear of her passing. She came to church often before she got sick. Janet and Jean texted each other very often. We prayed for her many times at church. Sister Jean will be missed by many.

Couldn't have ask for a better mother grandmother friend co worker her and Fred probably the two best people I will ever have the privilege of knowing 
Probably my favorite Aunt. She always had a smile on her face. She would often watch my sister and I when we were small kids during snow days. She always text me on holidays. I'll miss them. Jeff
Jean was one of those lovely memorable ladies, always with a smile on her face, positive, and everyone's friend. She will be greatly missed by so many.
