Praying for your family. You could certainly tell Nana was Christian and loved the Lord, I always enjoyed when she would give advice, and her excellent piano skills.

Some people have a profound impact on your life that you will never forget. Brenda Whisnant was such a person. When I became her pastor in my first church, she and David (Poppy) adopted our family. Poppy carried our crippled son on his shoulders at church, getting him out of the car for Becky Stover and making him feel special. Brenda was my "church mother," who loved and cared for me at every turn. After working a full-time job all day and spending many evenings visiting in the community, I would stop by her home. She had (the best ever) bread pudding and coffee waiting for her pastor to provide some comfort. Young pastors need love and encouragement, and she was the singular encourager in my first church. I will never forget her. I am confident her homecoming in glory was indescribable, and I know when it's my turn, she will be among the first to welcome me home, probably with her signature bread pudding.

Praying for your family during this time. I loved Brenda so very much. She was my Christian mentor, one of my dearest friends and I loved her dearly. I know she's rejoicing with Jesus on heaven's bright shore seeing the most beautiful place with a perfectly healed body.

Brenda could make a piano sing. She was beautiful inside and out. When I was a little girl I always noticed her smile. She was a loving caring person.
