Mr. James Russell Roberts, age 77, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Roberts was born in Erwin, Tennessee on July 8, 1947, to the late Jeff & Ollie Coffee Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Runion Roberts.
He attended Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Roberts was a Carpenter.
Survivors include his son, Tim Roberts, Jonesborough; daughter, Cynthia Roberts, Jonesborough; grandson, Jeffery Roberts and fiancé Aja Perkins; great-grandchildren, Nadalynn Perkins and Waylon Roberts; two sisters, Ann Wilson and Susan Casey, both of Erwin; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2024, at Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Bumpass Cove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Tilson, Tim Roberts, Jeffery Roberts, Chris Webb, Terry “Tree” Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Matthew McLain and Cody McLain.
