Mrs. Dorothy Martin, 79, Jonesborough, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her residence with her family at her side.
Mrs. Martin was born in Princeton, KY and daughter of the late Cecil & Erma Cunningham Ruffin.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Martin was Secretary for Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, MI.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Martin, Jonesborough; one son, Steven Martin and wife, Linda, NY; daughter, Lisa Stanley, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Christina Mitchell, Megan Wolfe and husband, Robert, all of Elizabethton, Kellie Martin, Angie Martin and John Martin, all of New York; great-grandchildren, Kya Harding, Teddy Lee Orton, Draven Harding and Colten Wolfe.
Memorial services will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating.
It's taken me a long time to be able to do this. Losing you has
forever changed my life. There is a massive emptiness in my
heart. I never let you know how much you have molded my
life. You were my second momma. Your "daughter" as you
always said. You've taught me most of everything I know about
God and the way someone should be. Your heart was so big
and you were always so willing to show it. It didn't matter who
or what but you were always there. You were the perfect
example of who I want to be. I will strive to be like you in
everything I do. I love you so much and I pray for the day
when I can hug you again and be with you and our Lord. Until
then...
