Mr. Charles Earl “Mr. Charlie” Overstreet, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Overstreet was born in Lakeland, Florida and son of the late George & Mary Overstreet. In addition to his parents, Mr. Overstreet was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice M. Overstreet.
He was a member of Douglas Chapel Union Church.
Mr. Overstreet was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans and VFW.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Robin & Doug Hope, Jonesborough; two sons and daughter-in-law, David & Patty Singleton, Lakeland, FL and Bernard Overstreet, Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, George H. & Alice Overstreet, Lakeland, FL; grandsons, Kenneth Webb and wife Nikki, California and Justin Hope, Jonesborough; great-grandson, Connor Webb, California; one niece and several great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Mr. Overstreet’s home, with Rev. Wayne Cole officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
