Mrs. Gloria Jenkins Nelson, 80, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Lakebridge Health Care Center.
She was a native of Washington County the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Blevins Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Nelson and one brother RJ Jenkins.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and farmer. She was a lifelong member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son Richard Nelson and wife Pat, Jonesborough, one brother, Earnest Jenkins, Florida, one sister, Betty Briggs and husband Frank, Chuckey, two grandchildren, Jennifer Teal, Georgia, Amanda Birchfield, Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Nelson will be a visitation from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Bumpus Cove Cemetery with Rev. Otis Banks and Rev. Steve Saults officiating.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Saults, Kenneth Lee Silvers, Terry Lewis, Randy Mclain, Benny Jenkins, and Jamie Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church.
