Mr. Ira Edward Brown, Jr., age 90, of Jonesborough, passed away at his home on Monday, December 8, 2025.
He was born in Kearny, New Jersey on June 28, 1935, to the late Ira Edward Brown Sr. and Vida Thoburn Brown.
Ira proudly served his country in the United States Military. After his military service, he was an EMT. His love for the Lord was at the center of his life and enjoyed his church. Ira’s greatest joy was playing the guitar and sharing his talent of playing musical instruments.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Jeanette Brown; sister, Jean Brown Lasner; son-in-law, Thomas Roberts.
Survivors include his daughters, Jill Brown Roberts and Cheryl Brown Hawks; sister, Elaine Brown Sullivan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In honoring Ira’s wishes, there will be no formal service at this time.
My uncle Ira Brown Jr along with his father Ira Brown senior introduced me to music and guitar. After 59 yrs of playing guitar I still use the information they taught me. My uncle was a great man and a caring person. I'll always remember wonderful times with him and family, especially at the farm. R.I.P. Uncle Ira!
