Mrs. Shirley Crowder, age 81, Telford, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Center of Johnson City.
Mrs. Crowder was born on August 11, 1944, in Washington County, Tennessee to the late Dora Sliger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lewis Crowder and a son, Michael Crowder.
Survivors include her sons, Tommy Crowder and wife, Laura, Limestone and Steve Crowder, Mississippi; granddaughters, Sydney Crowder and wife Tor, Carbondale, IL; sister, Betty Jo Correll, Gray; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sharon, Vanessa, and Wendy from NHC Healthcare for their wonderful care.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Maple Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Craig Ponder officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

I met Shirley in 1979 while working at Wrights Grocery store. In spite of the years that separated us we became fast friends. I found out later that Shirley, and husband Tom was married the day I was born. What are the odds? She was my friend for over 45 years. I have been so very blessed have had her for a friend. My love, and sorrow goes out to Steve, and Tommy. She was a wonderful woman that I was blessed to know. Although, we miss her…she is in a better place. With Michael, and Big Tom. I love you always my friend
