Sherri Wasson Baldwin

02/07/2024

Sherri Wasson Baldwin went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2024.

Sherri graduated from Elizabethton High School, where she was a member of the Cyclones Cheer Squad and she spent the rest of her life residing in Washington County, TN. She was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church and she spent a majority of her life working at Farm Bureau Insurance.

Sherri was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Gurley and Delores Gurley; her uncle, Mike Inabinett; her cousin, Aaron Humphrey; and a longtime friend, Cynthia Nieto-Cortez.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her children, Ethan Dockery and Abby Dockery; her mother, Tina Leach; her god-parents, Scott Emert and Susan Emert; her aunts, Kim Inabinett and Donna Sue Humphrey; her cousins, Josh Ellis and Dusty Humphrey; her nieces and nephews, Skylar McKnight (Devan), Asher Southerland (Derek), Saylor Cain, Tala Pierce-Burleson, Cameron Humphrey, Madison Humphrey and Malachi Ellis; and many other friends and family.

Sherri always lit up a room, and her presence was always known. She was a one-of-a-kind friend. She always made you feel as though you belonged. Sherri was kind, loyal, and always ready for a laugh. If you knew Sherri, you knew of her love for The Wizard of Oz and the joy she found in telling everyone that Usher was her secret boyfriend.

The family finds peace in knowing she is reunited with her Papaw P and her Grandma Dee. Sherri loved them endlessly and would take any chance she could get to talk about how great they were to her.

You can forget a lot of what people say, but you can never forget how they made you feel.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 PM, on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at Grace Free-Will Baptist Church (2110 Knob Creek Rd, Johnson City, TN 37604) with Pastor Curtis Hurt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, prior to the service.

Condolences may be sent to the Baldwin family online at www.dillow-taylor.com

Ethan and Abby my heart is broken. I loved your mom so much. I watched her become a wonderful mother and a friend to all. I am praying God will give you peace and comfort during this nightmare you are walking through. I am going through the same pain since I lost Michael 3 weeks ago. Life is cruel but God will hold you both. Love and prayers ❤️
