Jimmy David Fox

12/16/2023

In loving memory of Jimmy David Fox, affectionately known as "Fox," who peacefully transitioned into the embrace of Jesus on December 16, 2023, at his residence in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 91. Formerly of Limestone, TN, Fox leaves behind a legacy of a life well-lived.

Born to Jerome "Rome" and Myrtle Henley Fox, Fox graduated from Washington College Academy in 1950. For 60 years, he dedicated himself to the family farm started by his father, and he spent over three decades serving as a supervisor and inspector for the Food and Drug Administration in Tennessee. Fox was passionate about baseball and spent many years coaching Little League players. He was a devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Limestone and later became part of Harbor United Methodist Church upon relocating to Wilmington.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth Fox Leach (Harold), and grandson-in-law Robert Gene Mullins Jr., Fox's life was characterized by his genuine and appreciative nature. He attributed his many accomplishments to the values instilled in him by his parents, whom he held in high regard.

Known for his storytelling prowess, Fox lived a fulfilling life marked by travel, laughter, and creating joy for those around him. He never met a stranger and had a talent for connecting with people from all walks of life.

Left to cherish Fox's memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Evelyn Albania Morelock Fox, and their three children: Doug Fox (Anita) of Limestone, TN, Lesa Fox Mathes (Erwin) of Chuckey, TN, and Mira Fox Lamendola (Ed) of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren: Heather Mullins, Jordan (Katie) Fox, Megan (Jarrod) Ellis and Coleman and Nicholas Lamendola. Great-Grandchildren: Amelia Mullins, Jake and Lyndee Fox and Hayes and Blake Ellis and a family friend, Tammy Shaw, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to Bonnie Butler of Wilmington, NC, for the exceptional care she provided to Fox. He had a deep affection for Bonnie, expressing both love and admiration for her. Her love and support were invaluable during his final days.

Funeral Services were held at Asbury United Methodist Church in Limestone, Tennessee on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Garry Edwards officiating. Prior to the service the family received friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Graveside Services immediately followed the service at Asbury Cemetery in Limestone, Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2023, at Harbor United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.

It was my honor to help care for Fox in these final months. What I know is that he was always cutting a joke with me trying to slip me up and his beautiful smile was contagious. May he and his family find peace in the Lord .
