Mrs. Wyona Simmons Miller, age 94, of Jonesborough, TN passed away on November 9, 2023, at NHC Healthcare, surrounded by her family.

Wyona was born on February 3, 1929, to the late Charles and Tullia Kinnick Simmons.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the home demonstration club, and the widow group. Wyona was a beautician and she enjoyed sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Miller; three children, Sandra K. Miller, David Miller, and Sharon Ann Miller; brothers, Cecil Simmons, Harry Simmons, Dana Simmons, and Hugh Lee Simmons; sisters, Ruby Simmons, and Louise Scott.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Gunn and her husband, Kevin McCoy; brother, Lowell Simmons, and his wife Frances; grandson, Lee J. Miller and his wife, Lisa; great-grandchildren, Brody and Bailey Miller; many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Following the visitation there will be a Graveside Service with Pastor Brian Nulf officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Food Pantry, 284 Mount Zion Church Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
