09/17/2023

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10.

Our precious Terry Ferguson passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s for over 17 years.

Terry, born on April 25, 1947, was the daughter of, and preceded in death by, her father Dean Young, and mother, June Crowe Young Fleming, who suffered from Alzheimer’s as well.

Terry was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of Pleasant Valley Church, where she served her Lord as long as her health allowed, sang in the choir, and fed many generations her famous macaroni and cheese. She also made many friends in her years of working at ITT North Electric, Siemens and Baxter Pharmaseal.

Terry is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Bob Ferguson. Her boys, Robert (Kim), Dale (Tonya) and Greg. Her grandsons, Cody, Jonathan (Christy), C.J., and granddaughter Tiffany Sheets (Tommy). Great Grandchildren, Kaden, Kason, Tiger, Kyler, Lyla, Easton, Brantley & Thomas. Her loving brother, Tony (Carol) and niece Amy. Aunt, Elsie Crowe. Her Ferguson family, Carole (Jerry), Betty, Becky, Bill (Vicki Martin) Frances, Lois (Randy), and several nieces and nephews.

Terry has lovingly been cared for in her home for the last few months by her husband, Bob’s sister, Betty and son Dale. The family would also like to express their gratitude to her Amedisys nurse, Vanessa Fletcher, and her family doctor, Rachel Monderer, for their loving care.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Dillow Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Jonesborough.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorials may be sent to Alzheimer’s Northeast Tennessee Chapter 2020 Meadowview Pkwy. Suite 100 Kingsport, TN 37660.

My friend, my companion in funny mischief. My heart breaks for Bob and your family. Once we flew to Daytona on vacation, ran from hurricane Floyd and laughed as our spouses planned where they were going to eat next in the middle of breakfast. Getting lost in the Daytona flea market, eating at Aunt Catfish’s and many other adventures we had. I love you.

I am so very sorry for your loss! She was a beautiful lady and my family loves her made-from-scratch brownie recipe. We use it all the time and I think of her each time I use it. She will surely be missed. Know that though she is distant for a while, her love is still as present as it ever was. I am remembering you all in my prayers. God comfort your hearts until you meet again.

Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Have known her and family for a long time, loved her Mac n cheese. Mom has tried to make it, but just didn't taste like Terry's. She will be missed. Sending prayers to you Bob and boys, and the rest of the family. So so sorry!!
