Mr. James L. Berry, age 67, of Watauga, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Hillview Health Care Center in Elizabethton.

James was born on May 27, 1956, to the late Howard and Mary Lou Berry, in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was an Army veteran and drove a truck for many years. James was an old school hot rod, who loved motorcycles and enjoyed building bikes and cars.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James Lester Berry; brother, Russell Berry; nephew, Dustin Berry.

Survivors include son, Josh Berry; daughter, Brandi Shaw (Ryan); grandchildren, James Berry, Devan Munz, Waylon Shaw, Hudson Shaw, and Tristan Shaw; sister, Rose Boring (Eric); brother, Bill Berry; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to his former spouse, friend and caretaker for many years, Darlene Berry.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, Johnson City, TN with Pastor Roy Yelton officiating.
