Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” Chapman Ramsey, age 87, Limestone, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Ramsey was born March 29, 1936, in Pocahontas, WV, and the daughter of the late Lawrence & Ethel Mae Hypes Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gale Ramsey, and a brother, David Chapman.

She was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church and attended New Hope Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Bowmantown Home Demonstration Club. She was a homemaker and worked part time in the banking industry.

Survivors include sons, Steve Ramsey (Stacy) and Mike Ramsey (Kathy); granddaughter, Shelby Kretzmeier (Grant); brothers, Alfred Chapman (Rosie), Paul Chapman (Kay), Richard Chapman, and Denny Chapman; sister, Laverne Rowland (Johnny); special friend, Renae Norton; and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor John Moore officiating.

The pallbearers will be Dan Brant, Daniel Brant, Duane Luther, Paul Armentrout, Doug Taylor and Allen Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Slagle, Ralph Hensley and Don Curd.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to New Hope Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
