Mr. Tex Eugene “Gene” Bennett, age 82, of Johnson City passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, in Elizabethton.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Rob and Ida Cole Bennett and baby brother Casey Bennett.

He retired from the Washington County Health Department. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include wife, Patricia Bennett; brothers, Freddie Bennett (Shirley), Scottie Bennett (Beverly), Eddie Bennett (Linda); sisters, Linda Howell (Roy), Elaine King (Ernest); several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 PM, Monday, November 28, 2022, at Barnett Cemetery with Rev. David Montgomery and Rev. James Holmes officiating, everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service. Family and friends may come by the funeral home between 8 AM and 12 PM, noon, on Monday, November 28, 2022, to view and sign the register.
