Mr. Cecil Wayne Wilcox, Jr. passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Wilcox was a native of Johnson City.
Cecil graduated from Boones Creek High School. He attended U.T. Extension, and completed his apprenticeship at TEC. He was a former member of the Men of Local 538 Pipe Fitters Union. He retired from Bectel Corp. as a Field Engineer and Project Control Manager.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Cecil was preceded in death by his loving, caring and generous wife of 44 years, Peggy Ann Wilcox, his parents, Cecil Wilcox, Sr. and Mary Nell Wilcox and also his beloved yorkie “Jack”.
He is survived by daughter, Phyllis Price Partain, who lovingly cared for him during his final years; son, Bo Wilcox (Doris), son, Wayne Wilcox; two grandchildren, Brandi Dean and Kobe Wilcox; three great grandchildren, Trevor, Colleen and Leland Cox; siblings, Myria Jane (James) McGee, David Wilcox, Terry (Tina) Wilcox, Pam Wilcox, Billy (Barbara) Wilcox, and Tina Grindstaff; several nephews and nieces; special friends, Ruth Torbett and Dot Baumbarger.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Friday, February 21, 2020 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm Friday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City.
Pallbearers will be Billy Wilcox, Kobe Wilcox, Matt Wilcox, Doug Cox, Trevor Cox and Dewayne Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Rouse, Ean Harris, Gary Torbett, Tyler Arnett, Leland Cox and Colleen Cox.

Very Sorry to hear of Cecils passing ..grew up with him..in Piney Grove..was in business together...been friends since childhood..talked with him two or three times a month..been calling him the last week or so..always got the answer machine..thought he might have had to go to MD Andserson..in Texas for treatment..left messages ..tried to call him again today before Jim Magee called and told me of his passing...so sorry to hear the news..Was one of my,oldest and best Friends..I will miss him very much..he would always start the conversation ..with.. "Are you still there?". and I would ask him the same question. .told each other how much we loved each other every time we talked..Good Good Friend lots of good memories..
