Mr. James P. Stinson, age 83, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, December, 8, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Stinson was born in Georgiana, AL, son of the late Robert and Willie Mae Stinson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his 2 ½ year old daughter, Tammy Stinson; his sister, Elaine; and a brother.
He was a member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church.
Mr. Stinson loved to fish and play golf. He was an avid Alabama fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40+ years, Wilma Jean Stinson of Jonesborough; sons Jimmy Stinson of Gray, Tim Stinson of Johnson City, and Terry Stinson of Johnson City; stepson, Randy Kinnick of Henderson, TN; stepdaughter, Angie Melson of Kingsport; grandchildren, Emily Simpkins and Brittany Riness; three great grandchildren; sisters, Dee McCormick, Nell Rhew, and Doris Earl; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Stinson will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Clowers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -1:00 PM prior to the service.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends from the church.
