Mrs. Lena Jones Cibrario, of Jonesborough, lived a full 100 years as a wife, step-mother, sister and friend. She went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Mrs. Cibrario was born in Washington County and the daughter of the late Daniel Webster & Nora Bessie Vaughn Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Pete Cibrario, brothers, Carl Jones, Parks Jones, Melvin Jones, Calvin Jones, and Herman Jones and sisters, Francis Vestal, Ella Poore and Bonnie Boylin.
She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cibrario was a graduate of Jonesborough High School. She was a Switchboard Operator for the Jonesborough area and was encouraged to move to Detroit, Michigan as a Telephone Operator at the Hilton Hotel where she retired. After retirement and the death of her husband Aldo, she moved to Jonesborough to be closer to her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include two step-children, John Cibrario (Marilyn) and Cathy Noble (Tim); nephews and nieces, Catherine Jeffers, Sandy Fannon, Charlotte Sims, Wanda Privette, Janice Joyce, Jeff Jones, Gary Jones, Alan Jones, Eddie Vestal and Bobby Vestal; and four step-grandchildren, Christina, Joanna, Jacqulyn and James; and step great-grandchild, Francesca.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their loving care and special caregivers, Catherine, Sandy, Charlotte, Wanda, Angie, and Matt.
Funeral services will be conducted 12, Noon, Friday, October 18, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Broyles officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Cherokee Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Long, Larry Arrowood, Tim Royston, Tim Davis, David Gray and Gary Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Jeffers, Jeff Jones and Donnie Fannon.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church 284 Mt. Zion Church Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659.
