Albert Ray Holtsinger, a lifelong resident of New Salem Community, transitioned from this life on June 20, 2019. He died at home with his loving family caring for him.
Ray was born 19 October 1934 to Harry Dobson and Stella Mae McCurry Holtsinger. He worked for Burlington Mills, Johnson City and farmed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James C. Holtsinger, Horace Lee Holtsinger, Charles Doyle Holtsinger; and sisters, Lois Holtsinger Gary and Mildred Holtsinger Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Hylton Holtsinger; his daughter, Tammy Holtsinger Peterson; special son-in-law, Duane Peterson; his son and wife, Kevin Holtsinger (Sherry); two grandchildren, Andrea and Daniel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert Ellis “Mike” Holtsinger (Shirley) of Morristown, and Rollie Donald Holtsinger (Judy) of Lexington, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2019 at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 421 Lester Snapp Road, Limestone, Tennessee. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Cloyd, Chris Oliver, Luke Whiston, David Holley, and Daniel Holtsinger.
Relatives and friends may visit at the home.
