In the sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life we announce that Ray H. Henry died Friday, August 17, 2018.
He was the youngest child of John and Sallie Henry, born on August 30, 1929 in Andover, VA. He grew up in the Bowmantown Community.
He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and attended East Tennessee State University.
He served in the US Army in Korea as a train dispatcher.
He retired from Eastman Kodak in 1987, where he began as a welder with Tennessee Eastman and transferred to Carolina Eastman in 1966.
He was a longtime member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Cayce, SC. He was a York Rite and Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Jamil Shrine Temple.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norma, his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his children: Denise, David (Samantha); grandchildren: Joshua White, Katie White Dunn (Brittain), Erica Henry, Jacob Henry, Darcee Henry; great grandsons Milan and Ibra Sanchez Henry; his sister, Iona Aiken; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Lexington Extended Care and TriCare Hospice of Lexington, SC.
The visitation will be on Monday, August 20, at 1:00pm with service following at 3:00pm at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 1301 12th St, Cayce, SC.
Burial will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 22, at Telford United Methodist Church cemetery in Telford, TN, with visitation afterward at Grace Brethren Church, Telford, TN.
Friends can donate to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter in the memory of Ray and Norma.
