Mrs. Betty J. Briggs, age 83, Chuckey, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Life Care Center of Greeneville.
Mrs. Briggs was born in Unicoi County, TN and daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Blevins Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Howard Nelson, brother and sister-in-law, R.J. & Cora Jenkins.
Mrs. Briggs was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church and also attended Unity Chapel. She loved her Lord and enjoyed going to church. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend to many, but one of her greatest joys was her grandson, Isaac.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Frank Briggs, Chuckey; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Rev. Stephen Saults; grandson, Isaac Saults; brother, Ernest Jenkins, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Saults and Pastor Otis Banks officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Bumpass Cove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church and Unity Chapel.
