Keith was such a sweet, kind-hearted, and genuinely honest young man. He was a part of William and Mary (my parents) Hart's household from an early age. My brothers, Artavan and William "Willie", my husband, Cecil Rutledge, cousin, Steve Fields, affectionately nicknamed him "Peevine" as he was the youngest of the guys, yet, for my sons, Gene and Eddie, he was the "bigger brother" because he would walk them from his house to their grandparents' house on Berry Ridge Road when they rode the school bus from West View Elementary School. Although Cecil and I married in 1972, the age difference between my age and my siblings was significant, so by the time Keith was coming to their house, I am sure he filled a void that I left. My memories are filled with a little boy on my Daddy's tractor or hay wagon, on the bus, in the truck or car, sitting at the table in the kitchen, and basically just "being there"...he was essentially family. Our lives were enriched by his presence and we, along with our late parents, loved him. The farm has his footprints embedded in its soil, and echoes of his laughter will bring a smile to us as we think of him. Our hearts are broken and our tears are falling, however, our faith sustains us so much so that we know that God's Ways are not our ways; and somewhere in the clouds of despair, a rainbow will appear eventually, and the sun will shine even brighter because Keith is in the eternal presence of God, basking in His Glory and one day as God promises, we will see him again. So to the parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends, may you be comforted with the paraphrased scripture that "after a long night of weeping, there is joy in the morning." Rest In Peace, Keith, and "May the Angels sing thee to thy rest."

I personally did not have the privilege of knowing Keith but, all I've ever heard are good things about him. I know his death is so sad and so senseless in this world we live in today. I pray that in some way God will bring peace and comfort to his family. May God bless you. R.I.P. KEITH

My love and sympathy go out to my Tennessee family that have suffered this terrible loss. I never met Keith but I was looking forward to meeting him next October (2018) when we come to visit and meet our family in Johnson City & Jonesborough. I will look forward to meeting him in Heaven one day when it's my time to go to the Lord. Paulette & Kenneth, by the sweet notes that everyone has left here I can tell you that you did a wonderful job raising a really good boy. May God's love be with you both and may He comfort you in your time of loss. All my love, cousin Misty (California)

Keith was a great friend and I really miss him. He was a big help to me when I was going through my divorce and I will never forget him. I am on the road and will not be able to attend his funeral and I know there are many more like me because he had a lot of friends if they all showed up the church wouldn't hold them. Rest in peace big buddy

You have my sympathy. The only thing we can do is take it one day at a time. No one really knows what you are going through until they experience the same loss.
