Mr. J.C. Barnett, age 77, Erwin, passed away Friday May 8, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Barnett was a native of Popular, NC and the son of the late Park and Mary Lo Lohorn Barnett. Mr. Barnett was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Sue Barnett,` one daughter, Jenny Barnett, a granddaughter, Crystal Barnett and a sister Ruth Bryant.
Mr. Barnett moved to Tennessee in 1958 and married his beloved wife of 56 years, Charlotte Howard Barnett. He was a member of Embreeville First Free Will Baptist Church. He was a strong man of God.
Mr. Barnett ran his own logging company with his son, Tony for 50 years. He loved being in the beautiful mountains.
Survivors including his wife Charlotte Howard Barnett; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa & Steve Loville; six sons and daughters-in-law, Doran & Teresa Barnett, Terry & Marsha Barnett, Tony Barnett, Richie & Nioka Barnett, Eddie & Crystal Barnett and Chucky & Sara Barnett; twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, A.J. Barnett and Evert Lee Barnett, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat & Buster Harrell, Sara & Fred McCurry, Peggy Bennett, and Dorothy & Earnest Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnett will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Willis officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be sons and grandson, Joshua Barnett.
