Mr. Cecil J. Davenport, age 75, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Davenport was a native of Washington County and the son of the late Walter and Allie Mae McIntosh Davenport. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Davenport was a United States Veteran.
Cecil was a member of Bethel Christian Church and enjoyed being the first one to arrive at church and greeted everyone with an enthusiastic smile. He loved the Lord and served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He will be missed.
Mr. Davenport retired from Harris Tarkett, but was the Jack of all Trades.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Betty Hensley Davenport, three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Brian Johnson Sr., Deborah and John H. Moore, and Cynthia and Jonathan Green; grandchildren, Brian Johnson Jr., Sean Johnson, Kristan Johnson, Wesley Moore and Isaac Moore; one great grandson Skyler Moore; sisters, Mary Davenport, Betty Bahaman, Faye Jones and Vickie Arm, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services be will Saturday May 9, 2015 2:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Terry Lyons officiating. The family will receive family and friends 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Graveside will follow at Cherokee Mountain Cemetery, pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons.
