Mr. Robert T. Goodwin, age 56, Jonesborough, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Goodwin was born in Benham, KY and spent most of his life in Cumberland, KY. He is proceeded in death by his parents Stanley & Louise Altizer Goodwin.
He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1977 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology in 1994 from East Tennessee State University.
Mr. Goodwin was a United States Air Force Veteran.
He was owner & operator of his own biomedical equipment repair company, BioQuip Services.
Survivors include his long-time girlfriend, Karen Perkins, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanene & Jose Castaneda, Yuba City, CA; granddaughters, Cristina, Renee, and Mia Castaneda; mother & step-father, Shirley & Jack Kisskalt, Macomb, MI; sisters and brother-in-law Roberta & Willis Smith, Duncan, SC, and Ranee Swift, Indianapolis, IN; aunts and uncles, Gay & Frank Kudla, Bean Station, TN and Stanley & Sharon Goodwin, Norris, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family c/o Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home P.O. Box 98 Jonesborough, TN 37659.

Family of Rob Goodwin,,, We are so sorry to hear of your lost. We thought a lot of Rob. He had worked on our EKG and Digital B/P equipment for YEARS and we will dearly miss him. He had a lot of knowledge and experience that will be deeply missed by us at the Health Dept. Again, we were just shocked and sadden of his passing.

Karen, my heartfelt condolences to you and to Rob's family on your loss. My sincerest thoughts are with you at your time of loss.
My cousins and I played with Robbie when we were very little. Robbie and I were in Upward Bound, Graduated High School (always in the same classes), were in the Air Force, and graduated college together. We also got into trouble a few times. Personally, I feel as though there is a void in my life now. I did not expect this at all...

I have only had the pleasure of meeting Rob once,
but found him to be kind, generous, and having an
infectious sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers
are with his family and all those who loved him.
I had the pleasure of working with Rob for
several years. He taught me a lot. I hope
the book stores in heaven are open 24/7
because Rob loved to read! He will truly
be missed. I will celebrate his life.
