Mr. Raymond Baskett, age 87, Fall Branch, passed away Saturday January 10, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Baskett was a native of Kingsport, TN and the son of the late Everett R. and Agnes Cochran Baskett. He was also preceded in death by one sister Velma Macintosh.
Mr. Baskett was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Mr. Baskett was a United States Army Veteran.
He retired after working over 33 years at Eastman.
Raymond enjoyed Bluegrass music, NACAR, Darts and playing Horse Shoes.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anna Jean Lowe Baskett, one brother Harold Lynn Baskett, four sisters, Ruth Laws Fox, Evelyn Baskett, Norma Jean Whitehead, and Betty Branch (Jim); several nieces and nephews, and two special nephews and caregivers, Jim and Charles Baines.
Services for Mr. Baskett will be Tuesday January 13, 2015 7:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00 PM prior to the service.
Graveside services will be Wednesday January 14, 2015, 11:00 AM at Highland Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Donations may be made to the Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 84, Fall Branch, TN 37656.

I am so sorry for your loss. Raymond was a sweet man and loved him with all of my heart. Please tell Jean I'm so sorry I was unable to come to the funeral, I just now found out about his passing today. Please know you all are in my prayers. Our sympathy to the Baskett family. We remember Mr. Basket t as our Sunday School teacher when we.were in the Young Peoples Class at Mt Zion Church. He was always a wonderful example of a Christian.
