Billy Wilson (Skipper) Carter, Jr. passed away on December 30, 2014, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Billy was a 1973 graduate of Macon County High School and received a BS degree in Organizational Management form Tusculum University in 1996. He was employed at Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee from 1985 until 2014 as a Material Planning Controller. Billy loved the TN Vols and was involved in several sports in his lifetime. Billy was a 2014 inductee into the Greater Johnson City Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He was a 2014 inductee into the Macon County Sport Hall of Fame.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Billy Wilson Carter, his mother, Anna Dean Carter, and one uncle, Junior (Joyce) King.
Billy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Hazel Jean Carter; two step-daughter, Debbie (husband, Pat) Biddle; and two sons of Greenfield, TN and Sheila Freeman, one daughter and one son of Gallatin, TN; one step-son, Paul (wife, Tonya) Perdue; one daughter, two step-daughters, and one step-son of Westmoreland, TN; three great-grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (wife, Sondra) Carter; one sister, Debbie (husband, Rick) Murray; niece, Megan (husband, Mickey) Hock; one daughter, and three ne0phews Alex (wife, Kortnee) Carter, Matthew and Andrew Murray; uncles, Raybon (wife, Judy) King and aunts Irene Roark, Nina Biggers and Shirley (husband, David) Dyer; as well as several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
