Walter Lee Loyd, Jr. (affectionately known as Jr. to his family) passed away Saturday the 23rd of August, 2014 in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Walter was an avid waterskier, an accomplished craftsman, and a talented clock maker, having made hundreds of clocks during his lifetime. Walter was 75 years old and was raised in the Telford community. Walter graduated from Washington College Academy and was employed for over 40 years by the United States Federal Government, Department of Defense, Army Mapping Division, Washington, D. C. Walter was fun to be around and was an enthusiastic gentleman. Walter did not have any children, but was dearly loved by his nieces and nephews. He was known as being the "favorite uncle." Walter opened his home to many individuals over the years who were "down on their luck, " at the moment, giving them a place to stay until their lives improved. Walter was an animal lover and owned many dogs during his lifetime.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Loyd, Sr., Anna Mae Stafford Loyd, Larry Dale Loyd, and Brenda Loyd Hays. He is survived by his wife, Clarissa Loyd, of the home: a sister, Anna Loyd Graves; three brothers, Kenneth Loyd (Patsy) of Telford; Daryl W. Loyd (Carol) of Jonesborough and Jerry L. Loyd (Linda) also of Jonesborough. Walter is also survived by five nieces and five nephews as well as multiple great-nieces and great-nephews.

It was Walter's request to be cremated and no service to be held. Walter was of the Presbyterian faith.
