Mrs. Mae Williams Greene, age 93, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, July 14, at her residence.
Mrs. Greene was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Clarence D. Williams, SR. & Katie Dale Squibb Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Greene, daughter, Barbara Smith, sister, Frances Million, brother, C.D. Williams, Jr., grandchildren, Jodi Clark and Gregory Gilley.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Greene graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. She was Manager of the Dietary Department of the Washington County School System.
Survivors include three children, Jack Greene (Brenda), Jill Gray (Mickey) and Mark Greene (Peggy), all of Jonesborough; nine grandchildren, Kim Gray, Charlotte, NC, Scott Gray (Amber), Gray, Natalie Snyder (Bobby), Mooresville, NC, Tara Huneycutt (Chad), Wilmington, NC, Amy Garner (Jeff), Asheville. NC, Monica Greene, Nashville and Cheryl Skeens (Gary), Perry, GA; great-grandchildren, Ashley Vido, Brittney & Austin Snyder, Caleb, Nate & Emma Huneycutt, Chelsea Hunter, Devin Gray, Ashley Skeen, Amber Howell, Geremy Skeen, Jenna Rice, Drew Clark, and Jax Garner; great-great-grandchildren, Journee Rice, Kaleb Branch, Swayer & Taylor Mae Howell.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Wallace and Pastor Jon Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home of the daughter, 149 Elm Hill Dr. Jonesborough.
Interment services will be conducted 11:30 AM Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Garner, Chad Huneycutt, Bobby Snyder, Scott Gray, Gary Skeen, Devin Gray, Austin Snyder, and David Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Ford, Terry Ford, Clyde Payne, Dean Street, Allen Jones, and Tom Hill.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her compassionate caregivers, Roma Kilgore and Caris Hospice.
