Mr. Crawford Rogers, age 93, Kingsport, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Rogers was born October 1, 1920 in Washington County. He was a son of the late William L. & Elizabeth Poore Rogers. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Rogers, Hoover Rogers, Henry Rogers and Rob Rogers and two sisters, Lena Tester and Margie Rogers.
He attended Beulah Baptist Church in Kingsport. He was a devoted husband, an avid gardener and an antique trader.
Mr. Rogers was a United States Army World War II Veteran having served as Military Police. He retired from Air Products & Chemicals, Kingsport.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lillie Mae Dugger Rogers, Kingsport; daughters, Kay Roberts and Pamela Haines; son, Crawford Rogers, Jr.; grandchildren, Lester Roberts, III, Leslie Bishop, Hannah Haines, Amanda Saul, Chris Rogers and Andrea Rogers; great-grandchildren, Zeb Roberts, Polly Belle Roberts, Caleb Bishop, Zach Saul, Ava Saul and Lane Rogers; brother, Jim Rogers; sisters, Louise Bowser, Lillian Webb, Susie Hammonds, Novella Johnson and Nellie Ford; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Al South officiating. Interment services will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens with Military Rites provided by American Legion Hammonds Post #3.
Pallbearers will be Chris Rogers, Lester Roberts, III, Freddie Saul, Jimmy Rogers, Gary Webb, Billy Webb, Cecil Tester and Jeff Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Bishop, Hannah Haines, Amanda Saul and Andrea Rogers.
