Mrs. Hazel Bacon, age 81, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.

Mrs. Bacon was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Hugh & Blanche Ferguson Vines. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bacon was preceded in death by an infant brother, brother, J.W. Vines and a sister, Carolyn Hicks.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bacon graduated from Jonesborough High School and retired from Burlington Industries after 50 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Bacon, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Patricia Bacon, Jonesborough; grandsons, Bradley Bacon and Brandon Bacon, both of Jonesborough; brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Janice Vines, Jonesborough; sister and brother-in-law, Pearl & John Taylor; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Friday, November 1, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Nuff and Rev. Bud Pate officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday prior to the service and other times at the home of the son, 455 Bacon Branch Rd. Jonesborough.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rex Taylor, Wayne Taylor, Rick Shelton, Jeff Coggins, Dale Bacon and J.R. Bacon.
