Rev. Billy H. Ferguson, age 81, Jonesborough, went home to be with Jesus, 6:15 pm Sunday, June 2, 2013, just around church time, at the Johnson City Medical Center with his family all around him.

Rev. Ferguson was a native of Washington County and son of the late Frank & Ruth Stover Ferguson. In addition to his parents, Rev. Ferguson was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ferguson and Charles Ferguson and one sister, Lula Belle Archer.

He was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Ferguson had served as pastor for 57 years in many churches in the area and had worked at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Rev. Ferguson was a United States Army Sergeant having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Phillips Ferguson, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Lisa Ferguson, Jonesborough; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen & Mel Colvard and Patty & Steve Hodge, all of Elizabethton; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille Fields and Mary Kate & Sherrill Nelson, all of Jonesborough; brother and sister-in-law, Roy & Lynette Ferguson, Georgia; brother-in-law, Paul Archer, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Holly Wilson, Matthew Ferguson, Jeremy Hodge, Madison Ferguson, Michele Robitaille and Melanie Jordan; great-grandchildren, Kendall Hodge, Austin Hodge, Katie Wilson, Kelsie Robitaille, Ethan Robitaille, Marcus Robitaille, Mason Williams, Chandler Williams and Ava Estelle Ferguson; and several nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2013 at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Steve Ferguson, Pastor Perry Cleek and Pastor Jamie Ferguson officiating. Rev. Ferguson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Ferguson, Jeremy Hodge, Jeff Coggins, Jerry Nave, Jack Holden and Kenneth Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Lighthouse Baptist Church and employees of Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
