Mrs. Gail Louise Ellis Maupin, 44, Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

She was a native of Washington County the daughter of Helen Oliver Ellis and the late George Bruce Ellis. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Lewis, and Georgia Davis, and one brother Gene Ellis.

Mrs. Maupin was director for the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachian for 28 years.

She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, who always put others before herself.

Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband Leroy Maupin, of the home , three daughters, Hope (Misty), Bridget (Daniel), Rebekah (Brandon), all of the home, one sister, Phyllis Hughes, Jonesborough, six brothers, Greg “Allen” Ellis (Sonja), Roger Ellis(Carolyn),Gordon Ellis(Sherry),Glenn Ellis, all of Jonesborough, Gerald Ellis (Pam) and George Bruce Ellis II, both of Johnson City, several nieces and nephews and to many friends to mention.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Maupin will be conducted at 8 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home .The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm prior to the service. Interment service will be at 3 pm on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be brothers, Greg “Allen” Ellis, Roger Ellis, Gordon Ellis, Glenn Ellis, Gerald Ellis, and Hope Maupin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Carr, Brandon Echols, Misty Jenkins, Charles Maupin, Mark Ellis and the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachian.
