Geraldine James, of Jonesborough, Tennessee left us on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at her residence.

Geraldine was born March 22, 1918 in the small town of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas where she retired after teaching third grade for 35 years. After the passing of her husband of 49 years, Remmel, she moved to Jonesborough in 1985 where she quickly adapted and loved her new “hometown” and new friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesborough.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter Patsy Stinebaugh of Knoxville, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Robert King of Jonesborough, her granddaughter Elizabeth Stinebaugh of Washington DC, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law Jeffrey and Jessica King of Arlington, Texas, light-of-her-life great-grandson Dylan King, sister Ruba Hickman of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at a later date in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Mountain States Hospice, Lakebridge Health Care Center and to friends Kathie Dameron and Regina Lane who assisted in the care of Geraldine.

In lieu of flowers, family request that donations in memory of Geraldine James be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee 127 Dillion Ct, Johnson City, Tn. 37604 or St. Jude’s Children Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
