Mr. Joseph William “Joey” Cole, age 38, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Cole was a native of Washington County and son of Duane & Brenda Cole, Jonesborough.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Joey enjoyed watching NASCAR, Dallas Cowboys Football and Chicago Bulls Basketball. He had many friends and brought happiness to everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lula Ellen Payne and J.R. Payne.

In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Steven Isaac Cole and special friend, Meagan Bond, Johnson City; step-brother, Duane Cole, Jr., Johnson City; grandparents, Everett & Dorothy Davenport; niece, Lindsay Cole, Johnson City; nephew, Braeden Cole, Johnson City; aunts & uncles, Sarah & Marion Huntington, Johnson City, David Payne, Abington, Sue & Ramon Perez, Chuckey, Huvel Lee Payne, Jonesborough, Anna & Gary Humphreys, Delaware, Jackie & Susan Payne, Telford, Gene & Sharon Payne (Hannah), Limestone and Gene & Debbie Davenport, Johnson City; and special friends, Tina Loveless Cole, Kim Loveless Norris and Todd Gammon.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Tim & Angie Smith, for their support during a difficult time.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Monday, April 9, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday prior to the service and friends are welcome at the home at anytime.

Interment services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Nunley, B.J. Payne, Michael Payne, Chad Hardin, Duane Cole, Jr. and Gene Davenport. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Payne, Huvel Lee Payne, Gary Humphreys and Jackie Payne.
