Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Parker Street officiating. Interment services will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Neil Hackler, Rick Barnett, Allan Barnett, Joey Barnett, Dink Barnett and Jim Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Price, Josh Salyers, Joseph Barnett and Scotty Royston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home P.O. Box 98 Jonesborough, TN 37659 for funeral expenses.



Mr. James H. Barnett, age 88, Sulphur Springs, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Barnett was born October 27, 1923 in Trammel, Virginia to the late George R. & Minnie Gibson Barnett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barnett was also preceded in death by his wives, Marie Sharp Barnett and Billie Begley Barnett, five brothers, Jackie Barnett, Ray Barnett, Charles Barnett, Robert Barnett and Carroll Barnett and two sisters, Clara Jackson and Betty Mellons.

He was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served during World War II.

Mr. Barnett retired from the VA Hospital. He loved gardening and doing yard work.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Ricky Barnett and girlfriend Rita Vines, Jonesborough; three granddaughters, Ann Marie Barnett, Johnson City, Misty Royston and husband Scotty, Limestone, Cami Loudermilk, Chesapeake, VA; five great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Justin Royston, Riley, Jalyn and Malek Loudermilk; one brother, Joseph Pat Barnett, Johnson City; one sister, Peggy Joyner, Keysville, VA; three step-daughters, Barbara & Eddie Lawrence, Orlando, FL, Linda and Jimmy Nave, Jonesborough and Cheryl and Dan Vineis, DeBray, FL.
