The family would like to extend special thanks to Caris Hospice, especially Linda Byrd, Lydia Sweet, Tracy Cox and Angela Williams and the Ultra Sound Department at the Johnson City Medical Center for their wonderful love and care during our mother’s illness.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with a service by the Eastern Star at 7:00 pm.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Monte Vista Burial Park with Pastor Roy Scarem officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Estep, Chris Hamaker, Ralph Edmiston, Darrell Dempsey, Larry Burleston and John Shelton.


Mrs. Billie I. Hall Coffey, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Coffey was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Emory Virgil & Vernie Collier Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coffey was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Coffey in 1990, brothers, Eugene Hall and Donald Hall.

She was a founding member of Westside Church of Christ and enjoyed watching Higher Ground Baptist Church when her health didn’t permit her to attend her church.

Mrs. Coffey had worked for 30 years as a Tax Preparer and Office Manager for H. & R. Block and in admissions at Wetlands Water Park.

She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star #352 and current member of Eastern Star #194. She was a former board member of Jonesborough Little League.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Coffey (Laura Green), Ohio; two daughters Linda Bowman (Keith), Greeneville and Stella Mae Turnmire Coffey, Jonesborough; brothers, Harold Hall (Annetta), Elizabethton, Graham Hall (Carol), Christiansburg, VA and Ron Hall (Pam), Rogersville, Alabama; and several nephews, nieces & cousins.
